What to eat ?

Have a balanced and varied diet; by varying your diet amongst the most important food groups:

Dairy products: These are rich in calcium which is essential for your baby's bones and teeth.

Fruit and vegetables: These are one of the major sources of vitamins, minerals and fibre.

Cereals and starchy foods: Slow carbohydrates are a continuous energy source, essential for foetal development.

Meat, fish, eggs and poultry: These are important sources of proteins which are essential for your baby's tissue and organ development. 

Oils, butter and other fats: These are essential for the development of the foetus' nervous system, but they should not be abused.
